Nasdaq Slips 336 Pts at Close, as Nvidia, Microsoft, Other Techs Depressed; Softwares Remain Meager

US bourse traded mixed in early session Tuesday, but all three major indices eventually subsided. The Nasdaq led the downfall, losing 1.4% or 336 points to close at 23,255. The S&P 500 dipped 58 points or 0.8% to 6,917. The DJIA, which hit a peak shortly after the market opened, touched 49,653 before fluctuating. Once sliding 574 points or 1.2% at its lowest, it closed down 166 points or 0.3% at 49,240.

Microsoft (MSFT.US) and Meta (META.US), both of which announced quarterly results, sagged more than 2%, while Apple (AAPL.US) remained stable. NVIDIA (NVDA.US) dived nearly 3%. Software stocks continued to fare weakly, with ServiceNow (NOW.US) setting a 52-week low and closing down 7%, and Salesforce (CRM.US) also down nearly 7%.
